Well, being honest, I lie awake next to a snorer. Can anyone recommend some decent earplugs? I bought some foam type things from Boots that you compress and then stick in your ear before they expand and they were really uncomfortable.

I do feel so sorry for you as my husband has the same trouble.! As I am the snorer in our house. Sometimes I am awake and he tells me to stop snoring......how can you snore when you are awake.?????????? anyway I would do anything if it would cure it but nothing seems to work. Tried sprays..sticky band across nose......and latest one a snore ring. But nothing seems to work. We could never go camping because people would complain about me. Even on a coach I wake myself up snorting and feel so embaressed. Brenda x
I saw an episode of Jonathon Creek once where the murdered bloke had a walnut sewn into the back of his pyjama top, at a strategic point, so that if he rolled over onto his back it would be uncomfortable and he would automatically roll back onto his side (and the snoring would stop).

Actually, re-reading this, it sounds like I am ratted, but I'm honestly not.
Funnily enough, Mr LL virtually stopped the raucous snoring after having a heart attack. I wouldn't recommend it though as a cure. He has lost almost three stone, so that probably has something to do with it.

(He makes funny 'popping' noises now and they really irritate me!!!)
My husband says I am usually on my side when I am snoring not on my back. Brenda x
I snore quite loudly apparently. When I was with my ex partner she used to keep waking me to stop me, only for me to nod off and start again.

I started using the nasal strips which keep your nasal passage open a little wider and they worked.

Maybe rather than researching earplugs, stopping the snoring at source is the answer.
Stop it at source - smother with pillow!!!
Redman and I stayed with my mum she slept one floor down and through two fire doors she said he kept her awake all night 'driving the pigs to market'
separate bedrooms
if you cough he will stop
whistling wakes them, but you have to be able to whistle

4get - I wish!
I once sat up in bed and took 2 paracetamol. I began to choke on one and was coughing my guts up. He never flinched.
My OH snores so badly that no earplugs would ever work, he sleeps in another room. On holiday, it's quite a problem, I have slept in the bathroom in the past sometimes. Even if he isn't snoring, I find it hard to sleep as I am waiting for him to start snoring!
My OH stopped snoring when he stopped drinking alcohol.
He always wakes me up though to stop me from grinding my teeth, he says the noise doesn't bother him, but that I do it that loud and hard that he is worried for my teeth.
Muffles Wax Earplugs from Boots - warm them in your hands to make them pliable then insert. Completely painless and you can't hear a thing. I've been using them for years and can highly reccommend them.
