Vacuum Cleaners
25 Answers
I need a new vacuum cleaner, preferably upright and light weight. All the adverts I have seen so far are for the bagless kind. I used to have one with a so-called Hepa filter but didn't like it because it was a devil to empty and keep clean, so I'd consider going back to the bagged kind. Comments for or against would be appreciated. Is there such a thing as a bagless vac that is easy to empty without making a horrid dusty mess?

My cheap Pet hair vacuum died last year after several years service. It didn't pack up, but the handle snapped. It was lightweight and had great suction. I bought a Vax in an Argos sale half price , normal price £250, Vax had upgraded the model. Its eats belts and is costing a small fortune £9 a time, because we have to use it on a high setting even on hard floors to save on the cost of belts, its not efficient. It was returned to them within 3 weeks and now needs to go back again because it keeps cutting out after only short usage. The Dyson we had didn't last long either. We had an expensive Hoover which was effiicient but heavy enough to put your back out. Even a Tesco's cheapy was better and lasted longer than the expensive ones.
