I'd take him to the vet just in case the other dog wasn't up to date with injections!.........better safe than sorry!.............

Dogs teeth are full of germs, you need to keep it clean in case he gets an abscess.
My dog has just had an abcess on her face. Not sure what caused it but if I were you , I would get it checked out. He made need some anti-biotics.

been keeping it as clean as i can, but being a pup and a strong one at that i havnt been able to get in there today. he as a penchant for salt and vinegar crisps so let him have a bag last night in the hope the salt would clean it. will phone vets on the am as its rock hard lump still not worrying him unless he knocks it. Just glad its not on is blind side then it would constantly be being knocked!
Hardly likely to get anything that dogs are vaccinated against from a bite, but could well be infected so vet will give antibiotics and maybe anti inflammatories.
