Good morning, My service provider (T Mobile) will sell me an internet add on for european use at a cost of £10.00 for 50MB, the problem I have is I don't really know how much that is. If, say, I download the Daily Mail on a daily basis how long roughly will that amount last me, anyone any idea or where I could find out from?
Thanks

My OH travels abroad with work, and mobile downloads from the internet are far more expensive on the continent than they are in the UK - his download costs rocket once he leaves the UK.

I can't answer your specific question but it's probably a great deal cheaper to go and buy the DM - most British papers are flown into European destinations by mid-morning.

Yes thanks for that but I really wanted to know how many MB things are. Say 10 mins a day on Facebook getting the DM, catching up on rugby results, that sort of thing
I'm not technical, but if you have the right sort of phone, it looks as if you can download an app. It doesn't say anything on that link about having to pay for it!

Ok thanks for that, Now I am wondering if that is the amount for the initiall download or is that the amount for the daily upgrade as well?. need to do more digging. Might be better just going for a holiday instead!!
The 3.51MB is the size of the app, not the size of the daily data download.

The amount you download daily would depend on how much you look at and on what the settings are in the app.

Just check how much storage space there is available on your phone, have a read of the mail so it downloads the data and then check the available storage on your phone again and you'll get an idea at least.
Thanks, chuck :-)
Why not check your usage data on your phone, clear the counters then download the daily mail and check how much data you have used. Also do not forget to turn off data roaming before you go abroad, and there are thousands of free wi fi hotspots, use them.

Ok thanks to all

I have just discovered (in Settings) that my phone gives me a weekly breakdown of how much I have downloaded from where and whether by wifi or 3G, looks like I will not be using it abroad after all unless there is free WiFi somewhere but thanks again for all your help
I browsed the internet for about 1.5 hours abroad and that used 17mb. (cost me £131)! That was just browsing and not downloading anything of note. The dailymail app hasn`t worked when I`ve tried to use it overseas. It needs to download every day but if you just browse you can still read the mail via the normal internet and you don`t need to use the app. If you are going to use your data roaming it would probably be worth paying the £10. I save the usage for something important though (eg an airline app to check in for the flight home). After learning my lesson about data usage I only go on the internet abroad when I`ve got free wifi. That`s your best bet.
