digital photo frame static noise
4 Answers
I have a bush digital photo frame and it makes a high pitch static-y noise whenever it is switched on, there is no function for it to play sound so it's not a speaker issue and it happens whichever socket it is plugged in, it also sometimes starts just when it is plugged in, before it is switched on but gets noticeably worse when switched on. Any advice on what the cause might be and how I can get it to stop?

I rather suspect that you mean it is switched on at the mains socket but not at the photo-frame itself. In that case the sound must be coming from the transformer. Normally such sound cannot be heard but something in the structure of the frame must be resonating. Does the sound stop when you squeeze it?
I'm afraid there is little you can do without opening it up and placing a damper between the transformer and the casing.
