I dont know why I cant sleep tonight, normally in the land of nod by now.
Anyone want some "homework " to do please ?
I have recently had the stairs of our little two-up two-down house laminated I did this because my two dogs made the stair carpet smell and I have to change the staircarpet each year so I paid out for them to be laminated and its much more hygenic and looks okay.
Our no 1 dog is almost 13, arthritic and now he cant/wont do the stairs but stands at the bottom about 3am and barks the street down and I have to spend the rest of the night down with him, occasionally he makes the stairs on his own without a fuss but not every night.
I think stair carpet treads preferably self adhesive is the answer, but I would like to see before I buy, I live in Essex and I found one advert on the net in Woodford e mailed them got no reply so went there and left a polite note - no contact. Did the same with another place in Herne Bay Kent no one bothered to reply.
I have looked on the net until I am cross eyed, can anyone help me or point me in the right direction pls ?
the poor wee soul is old and confused and at his age laminate flooring is just too much.i agree with elvis about the strips of carpet, but, please just leave them on all the stairs for now. you can get non slip mats from diy stores that you could cut up to cover the steps? hope things improve for all,its soo worrying and heartbreaking when our family pets are hurting:-(
When my dog spots something in the garden he sprints from the living room (carpeted) to the dining room (wooden floor) and he slows down and skids to the patio doors, he's got it mastered and it's so funny to watch
thank you everyone, been up half the night again,I feel so sorry for my Taz and guilty, hopefully we will resolve soon, once he has got over the first two steps he is okay, we have had this dog from a puppy.
probably is Hopkirk and he wont let me out of his sight, he panicks if he cant see me, my heart bleeds for him, its our fault as our first dog we have spoilt him , at a year old we sent him to "boot camp" [ I had to laugh the trainer's name was Mr Barker !] he came back a reformed dog but it only lasted a few weeks !
