Imadiately was transported to the streets where I played, to my junior school, my teachers even. I went back to the park I played in, picnics with Tizer & sugar sandwiches.
I was sorry when I finished it. Certainly a 'Blast from the Past'

Mom always took a picnic and we sat in the woods surrounded by bluebells. We would come home on the bus laden with bluebells which were then put in vases all round the house. Living in an industrial area this little bit of countryside was heaven. I now live in the country near the sea and cant believe how people born here take it for granted, I,ve been here 50yrs and still marvel at the lovely senery. Not allowed to pick the bluebells though.
The smell of vosene shampoo takes me back to when I was about 5 or 6 standing on a stool by the washbasin "helping" my Auntie Liz or my cousin wash their hair. I was probably a bigger hindrance than anything but they put up with my assistance.
