Is the Wall Street Journal Just bitter and twisted over the Olympics?

London 2012 was arguably the best Olympic Games in living memory with a fantastic atmosphere, wonderful athletic performances, world class venues and the best medal haul for Team GB in 104 years. The games have been widely praised around the world. It was done on a fraction of the budget of Beijing and mostly was ran smoothly and professionally. Then i read about an article in the Wall Street Journal that smacks of spite and bitterness. Apparently Team GB were the worst losers of the games ie we finished 3rd from last to last in more events than any other participating country. It says a lot about the press when they have to take something that was world inspiring and admired and trash it. Mitt Romney was another person who dissed our games before they even started all for political gain back home. I'm am not tarring all our cousins across the atlantic with the same brush because i believe the majority of them are decent people who are gracious to say we did a great job but it is sad that these individuals have to *** us off for no reason at all other than we did something remarkable when we was expected to fail. Here is the article...

They do this for every Olympics, giving "reverse" medals for last, 2nd last and 3rd last in EVERY event.
So, this time round - probably, as pointed out in the article, we could enter every event automatically - we scooped that particular "honour".
It's not aimed at any particular nation, nor even trying to crow about US prowess, simply a bit of fun.

I think you're being a touch too sensitive.
As to Mitt Romney, he's in the same class as GW as a modern sage.
