I'm always intrigued when people, on tv etc, say 'oh I can't cook' or 'I don't cook'; what on earth do these people eat?

I hate poaching pods....you are right ummmm, the whites go that tad rubbery. Yuck.

I take the attitude that if you can read and follow a basic menu to the letter as if it was a chemistry or science lesson at school, you can make something edible. Does this make you a cook? No - serious cooking is where technique, tastes (and the other senses) and imagination all come together.

(And then cooks have their strengths and weaknesses. I consider myself a reasonable chef but I prefer someone else to bake and make pastry - except meringues and the occasional home-made pasta!).
I can bake a treat DT. And my very cold hands make great pastry. I feel another massage coming on.
I don't enjoy cooking but love baking. I find it very relaxing whilst I used to get quite stressed cooking fancy meals.
note to self gness has very cold hands.
Very, very cold. But a warm heart.
I know that, gness. x

but does she have cold feet?
I'll tell you tomorrow, sibo lol

Not as boring as cooking for one SS. Love cooking, sometimes spend a great deal of time making a healthy, nutritious meal and then cannot face eating it.
If anyone is interested... My omelette was lovely, it took about 20min to cook and was so simple I really can't understand why anyone would live on readmeals.
20 minutes?
I don't understand why people are so bothered about what other people eat.

I'm a big girl now and if I want to have wheetabix for my dinner then I will.
Evian, that deserves BEST ANSWER X
Snags - I'm guessing some of the ingredients needed precooking.
Been married 45 years and don't ever cook. No interest in cooking whatsoever. Mr BD has done it since day one. Wouldn't know where to start to make pastry or spaghetti bolognese etc but who cares.? I wash, iron, clean, shop, pay the bills, organise holidays and buy all presents and cards needed. We are a good team.
I find cooking quite tedious and not even remotely relaxing. However I can cook if I really want to, sometimes it even tastes arlight. If I lived alone I suspect I would swap lunch and dinner around so that I had my main meal at work. I simply would not be ar$ed to cook for one person.
