Wow thank you that explains so much, never heard it called that. They prescribed me tablets ??????? but they made me drowsy so they gave me a reduced Solifenacin 5mg. Have to say I never took them as I hate taking tablets. This problem is really very bad and it makes my life difficult but I gave up going to the doctors in the end and have put up with it
Tamaris I read your other post with interest as I am a urology nurse. I can't comment on acupuncture as I have no experience of this. However, Vesicare (Solifenacin) could help your symptoms significantly if you could persevere. I've never heard of any patients saying that these tablets made them drowsy but if they affect you this way, why not take it at bedtime? Your problems sound as if they're making you miserable so if I were you I'd take he tablet. Good luck!
foodluva, thank you for your kind words, I have started to take a tablet at night over the last 3 nights, and slept through till about 5-6am. The tablets are making my mouth dry, seems to be the only side effect. do you thnk they will regulate the overactive bladder or wil I always have to take them ? x
Tamaris, the tablet will only manage your symptoms - it won't cure the problem so yes you would probably need to be on them long term. Another option you may wish to consider is Botox into your bladder. This is a very routine, simple op which may help your bladder overactivity. Google it for more info.
