I have almost decided on a Garmin 2595LMT but would appreciate feedback from anybody with experience of either Garmin or TomTom. Many thanks.

I've got Garmin ... I preferred TomTom.
I have a Garmin 1310t....less than £100 from most places....absolutely love it...never lost yet and never lost my car in an airport carpark...loads of features and comes with a traffic receiver which is brilliant....only down side is I think I am in love with the voice....I even talk to her.....

The best feature for me is if you get off course either by accident or design you get instant rerouting and I mean instant.

No experience om Tom Tom...sorry...
My Garmin has lost its voice. Any idea how I can turn it back on?
I suppose it's too simple to expect you have it in Mute mode...mine does have such a button.....or have you tried a different voice..japanese or russian sounds good...not helpful but sorry nothing else to offer. :-{
But I don't seem to be able to find anything in settings and it doesn't appear to be on mute.
I have found the free Telmap app on my smartphone works just as well as my TomTom. In a lot of ways it is easier to use and sets up a lot quicker.
Had a v bad experience with a TomTom so I swapped it for the cheapest I could get - a Binatone - works perfectly but no choice of voices etc :)
I've only used Tom Tom, never had any problems with it!
In the latest Which? tests, eleven of the top fifteen were Garmin.

Thank you all for your answers, looks as though it will be a Garmin. Sipowicz, does yours send you away from Anfield and around Stanley Park to the Holy of Holies?
