My mother had a thyroid problem .She also had a goitre which they removed .
But she lived quite happily until the grand old old age of nearly 92 and had all her marbles .My sister ,also deceased now, on the other hand had an overactive thyroid .She was like hell on wheels sometimes !

Dotty ... you work long hours there! I am lucky enough to only work 4 hours a day. I seriously would not be able to cope with working those hours.

By the way dotty & anyone else with thyroid problems. Are you aware there was a brand of thyroxine recalled just recently? Make sure 'your' medication isn't this brand ... http://thyroid.livejournal.com/1287706.html
To be honest, Dotty - I would be careful what supplements you take regarding thyroid probs. As others have said, its a fine balance with levels etc.

I have experienced both ends of the candle with thyroid probs. Was overactive from age of 10 yrs old until had my gland removed 7 years ago.

Then went underactive middle of last year - I have never felt so ill in my life, the fatique was alarming. Mine was due to the stress of my Mum, but one year on, my levels (100mcg) per day have improved.

Oooh Sqad, you kept that quiet about having thyroid probs. You have never mentioned it before.
