Its not the "extremist" ones you need to be worrying about, its the hordes of so called moderates over here, that will quite happily switch over and start wanting self determination given the right conditions.
but of course as usual the same old handwringers come out with the same old bull and littany of reasons to defend them at nearly every turn and tell you otherwise.
For some reason that they never ever seem to explain, they dont seem to give a damn that these people and others will destroy this countrys culture and heritage, they just call everybody racist , xenophobic etc etc.

and if youd have voice the same concerns 40 years ago, these same handwringers would have said the same then, "theres only a few thousand, your just scaremongering and being racistl blah blah" ....turn the clock forward, how may millions do we now have over here, and what are they still saying to anybody who has the bare faced cheek and temerity to speak out and voice concerns about the country ? you must be racist, xenophobic blah blah.

@fred
even though examples have been quoted, you obviously havent read my post carefully.
I didnt mention anything about them being a minority at the time that it may happen you just assumed it, but heres the important phrase I used
"given the right conditions" eg when they reach lets say 50% of the population

"Baz, can you give any example of a minority taking control of any democratic country and imposing their ways on it, to the destruction of existing ways? No? Then how and why would it happen here?"
Sadam Hussein and several other Arabic countries where the much larger Muslim group is ruled by an elite oligarchy from the much smaller sect, hence the ensuing sectarian fighting. Bahrain, for example, is ruled by the Sunni Al Khalifa family despite a Shia majority.
That does not mean that I think it will happen here, just that it can happen.
