Lately i have been getting severe cramp in the same calf every single night! It is so painful! I used to get it when heavily pregnant, but why am i getting it now? And why in the same spot?
Are you taking thyroxine? If not it might be worth seeing your GP for thyroid tests. if you are taking thyroxine, then the dose needs "upping."
Potassium loss MAY cause cramps, but one would have to have a reason for losing potassium....e.g taking diuretics. If your potassium levels are normal, then replacing it with bananas or anything else will be of no value.
Crampex tablets come with quite a few warnings on them (If I remember correctly from my chemist days) the majority of customers were unable to take them for whatever reason
no, i'm not on any meds - (i like saying that - I've finally come off the 'happy pills' that i've taken for 17 years!) Woo hoo!
Just about to take my anti-cramp pill. My husband is looking forward to a good night's sleep too!
I know I am hijacking your question, but I just got off of "happy pills" that I have taken for 10 yrs. I am too, having cramps in major muscle usually leg. Wonder if that may be the cause..... squad??
not a doctor nohorn, but if you're not on "stuff" that makes you relax, your body is going to react, therefore cramp i think.congrats on getting off the bad stuff. not ideal i know, but sometimes a quick glass of wine, relaxes the leg enough
I have bouts of very bad cramp and find that calmagzinc tablets from the health food store help. They are like housebricks and the dose is three a day but worth it I think.
