We have this buddleia bush in our front garden. It is roughly 6 years old.
This year for some reason it only had two flowers. The leaves have giant holes
in, obviously been attacked by some bug but I cant tell what. Sorry I cant do any pictures as my printers broke. Any ideas how I can get it back to good health?
We have three Buddleia bushes in our garden and every year we chop them down, we have been doing this for 15 years now infact we have just done them a week a go and they flourish,by next year they will have new growth of up to 3/5 feet on them with an abundance of flowers.Have you ever cut yours down?
I have just cut mine back this week ..also the lilacs....do it now or wait 'till March/April..before/after frosts arrive....also in early spring I feed a box of bonemeal to the root areas..great show of blooms always !
I have white and mauve. After flowering, I cut them back about half way or just under to stop "wind Rock" in winter. This is when, if you leave them tall, strong winds can pull out the roots, same with roses. I cut them again hard back in March and always have lots of flowers.
