tablets good for kids?

been looking at some in argos.range between 99-149 up tp 9" screen.do you think these would be good for our 5year old for playing games,youtube etc?they also have a usb so could i put films onto a memory stick for us to watch?jut seems easier when away instead of taking nintendo ds,portable dvd player and all dvds...and we can use it for jnternetnot great at techno so any advice appreciated.
