My fridge is empty and I'm writing my shopping list, what do do you fancy for lunch tomorrow....you're all invited, be sure top come armed with a bottle or two....

So I would get som shine beef, throw it in a casserole dish with celery, onion and carrot, plenty of water and seasonings a la cupboard and leave it to simper happily in a low oven all day. Maybe spruce up the juices with a squidge of tomato puree before serving, perhaps with a baked spud or whatever takes the fancy.
