Just have finished 3 hours of housework. Pulled out fridge/freezer and removed all excesses of crumbs - fridge not integrated - however, I just thought to myself (as I am thinking of a new kitchen) my oh my what is a kitchen really made of - just wood constructed into cabinets and then fitted. For this - it can cost thousands and thousands - my kitchen is small £8,000 and no appliances. What a rip off.

I don't know what your £8K was quoting for but good natural stne floors, granite worktops can easily add to the price of a kitchen.

It's always a good idea to get at least three quotes and then negotiate.

Eccles - no stone floor as I have wooden floors - just cabinets and worktops. Having said that the price did go up a thousand because I fancied granite worktops - even at that the price of a kitchen is expensive.
Kitchen fitting companies are modern-day horse traders. Their aim is to maximise the profit from fitting over-hyped sh1te that they buy at rock-bottom wholesale prices, paying minimum wages to no questions asked 'employees'.

Mosaic you are right as when you examine the shlte you realise that it is cheap wood.
Going to the likes of IKEA and finding a local joiner to do the installation is often the best deal.

There are also many, very good, online kitchen suppliers. Find a local fitter and talk to him.....or her.

Eccles our posts crossed as I put a new one in. Thanks for your advice. But you know this kitchen provider actually make the cabinets on the premises which I guess you pay for too. Loathe getting work done in the house. Quick and out.
