I appreciate that but, at the moment, this is akin to "What car do you drive?" "No idea - I just get in it and drive it."

Please think carefully here:

1) Your computer has been switched off, and you've just switched it back on again.

2) You want to go to Google - what do you click in order to load up Google?
Have our posts crossed, Rsvp?

My post shows you exactly how to search for lyrics (and provides a page full of results where the very first link is exactly what you seem to want).
RSVP... What does the picture look like that you click on to get onto google?

I'm so appreciative of the help given but I''m not able to keep up with you guys - really thought my question wasn't a long one - thought it would be sorted in a few minutes - am flagging -I do so appreciated all the input and will follow it up tomorrow - thank you so, so much - you are all so brilliant! thank you.
I'm beginning to feel ignored here, Rsvp!
(I've provided you with instructions for finding lyrics but I still don't know whether you've read/understood them!)

Assuming that you can find the lyrics which you require, all that Mark has suggested is that you should have two tabs opened in your browser, with the one showing the lyrics and one playing the music. Since you don't seem to know how to do that, he's asked you which browser you're using. (See below).

When you click Start > Internet what is actually happening is that your computer is launching a program (called a browser) for viewing web pages and going to the default page (called the home page), which happens to be Google's website. What Mark would like to know is which browser you're using (and NOT which page comes up when you open it). As I've previously indicated, if you've got File, Edit, etc across the top of your screen, you need to click on Help and then on About to find out which browser you've got. (If you've not got File, Edit, etc, but there's a wrench symbol at the top right of your screen, you're using Chrome).
Can you not just search the artist with karaoke on YouTube?

That usually has a few versions

mick-talbot - thank you too
Everyone is helpful here and to be honest not too long ago if someone had asked me about browsers etc - I would have been a total blank. I used to have an on hand tech team lol, now have had to learn a bit for myself.
rsvp, if you use Youtube, most songs on there can now be found with the lyrics. As in the link

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AW9C3-qWug
you can find song lyrics here. Not sure if this site covers 'old' songs but might be worth a look.
