Just seen on Sky News channel an advert for the £5 Poppy appeal coin p + p free, but only 17pence of each sale goes to the charity.
What do other ABers think???
Not seen the ad, but it would be interesting to see a breakdown of the spending. Does the 17p refer to those who benefit from the work of the British Legion or to the charity's admin/advertising costs as well as those who benefit?
They keep jumping on the band wagon don't they?
If the thing is not legal tender in main land Britain it's just going to lie idle in a drawer unless the purchaser is a collector and 17p is hardly a great amount. I'd sooner giver £5 direct to the Legion.
