I am trying to identify a plant

18" tall. purple pipe brush type flowers, leaves are green, long, thin, pointed. Not salvia.

Maybe it's liatris, it stand about 12-18 inches tall with a brush type flower

Yes sounds like a liatris or it could be a Hebe or a Veronica. Can you post a pic of it?
