My favourite comfort food is Beano Pie: frie onions+chopped bacon, add baked beans, then top with cheesy mashed potato and bake for 20 min. Delicious.

rotisserie chicken
my fav comfort food is mashed spuds, bacon chopped, onions, peppers, sweetcorn and cheese all mixed through then stuck under grill until crispy served with tom sauce mmmmm
Pot noodle?
Homemade Macaroni cheese - and to spark it up, add some ham/bacon, lightly sautéed leeks and my spice standby, chipotle pepper, failing that, some paprika.

^^^ That's what I went for but I ponced it up and called it Welsh Rarebit.

It really hit the spot on this miserable autumn day.
When I was poor I used to chop up all the bits of food in the fridge, throw them in a wok for a couple of minutes, whisk eggs and milk together then pour over the whatever was in the wok..............2 minutes later, a chinese omelette.

Pastafreak is right - fritatta fits in well with what you have in the fridge.
That sounds like heaven to me - have got what it needs and will try tonite - got any other shortcut recipes?
