WinXP

I have a laptop running Win XP as you know you can have more that one user or accounts as they call it, the other day my partner asked if he could share my laptop as he is only just learning how to use a computer, so I went into control panel/user accounts and set one up for him, so now we have me or user A, and him user B - each with a different log on and password, the problem is that for some reason when he logs on to his account it has repeated some of my icons which he does not want so if he then moves them to the recycle bin they remove the same icons from my account (user A)
why does this happen & how can I stop it?

If the icons are in the all users desktop folder then they appear on all users desktops and if one user deletes them they are removed from all users desktops.
To solve the "problem" browse to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\desktop select the icons you want on your desktop only and then paste them into your own users desktop folder. any which you want on your partners desktop put them in their desktop folder.
Or just delete them from either user account and then copy them back onto the desktop from the start menu while logged in as the account you want them to appear on the desktop.
