Mr Al Fayed told critics they can "go to hell" if they do not appreciate the statue, which was commissioned following Jackson's death in June 2009.



That would have been my cue to find another club to waste my money on.

M-T - I am not a football fan of any pursuasion, but I fail to see the link between MJ and any sport anywhere, much less a London football club - it seemed bizarre at the time, and Mr Al Fayed reaction rather churlish.

If someone erected a statue of Stanley Mathews outside the Emirates, I know the present Mrs Hughes (Stoke season ticket holder and passionate fan, and Arsenal hater bar none!) woiuld be there to cut the ribbon in double time!
