Hi all
Just purchased this and connected it to the Sky HD box, the instructions are very vague. My question is,
1. Do you leave this little box on all the time
2. If so, do you have to leave the Sky box on as well as it downloads from the HD box.

Thanks in advance

Hi rosiew, you can leave them on all the time but I turn mine off when we go to bed, no point in it using electricity when nobody'd going to use it for hours.

Thanks Douglas9401, will it still download all the programmes onto "on demand" if both boxes are switched off.
I don't know for sure rosiew as I don't have on demand but I doubt it, if there's no router in operation then there's no broadband connection. If you leave the Sky box it eventually goes to standby automatically but will perform programmed tasks in this mode.
If you switch the little box off the internet connection will cease and downloads will stop. Will leave ours on all the time as advised by sky, apparently the electricity it uses is pennies.
They are designed to be left on all the time and you won't get a optimum internet connection unless you do leave them on all the time as it takes upto a few days for the best speed on your line to be negotiated with the DSLAM (the equipment in the exchange)

Thanks for all your replies. As well as the wireless router being on all the time, does this mean i have to keep the Sky box and the internet on. Forgive me for sounding thick.
If the router is on then the internet is on anyhow. the sky box has to be left on for it to download anything but you can put it in standby.
