If it's your own past cars you could write to the DVLA and request the information - possibly under the freedom of information act. They might ask a small fee but since it's actually publically held data on you they opught to release it.

If they have it - if you're going back a long time I don't know how far back their computer systems go

I don't think so, DVLA wouldn't release names of owners, surely?
i would blooming hope not matheous, although i can't see a scenario whereby someone would profit from this info. Registration plates are v sentimental (i can still remember the first car number plate we as a family had (old n reg)

Most sites that let you track vehicles can only give info from car details actually loaded onto the sites as far as I know....one example...

I have a thing about number plates - I love 'em! I can remember all the ones my father had from when I was very young, and all the ones we have owned as a family. I think the best ones were HRC222 (a very old two-tone Hillman Minx with bench seat and column change) and ARC 1H (Hillman Avenger - wish I'd kept that number plate!)
You could find out if any of your old vehicles are still on the road by asking..

The problem I have is while I remember most of the models- I have forgotten the plate numbers. The site that has ALL that data of course is DVLA!

Thanks Jake.....I will try there...
If you don't know the number plates you have no chance.
You don't seriously expect that there is a list of for example every Morris Minor registered and who had it and when. You can not identify a car by description alone unless it was a very rare and unusual car. For example there were over 4 million 'Minis' made .
The DVLA do sell the information about who is the keeper of currently registered cars, that is how private parking companies get the information to send their bills out. But only data on currently registerd / sorn cars is held.
