how come the people moving haven't even bothered to pack one single suitcase let alone anything else, the lazy sods, and then they're moaning they are behind schedule!

it's just amazing me that people sell their house and then are blissfully unbothered about packing up anything because they are paying someone else to do ti. who would leave their cupboards and drawers just as they are for someone else to have to clear? for one thing it means the sellers have no intention of cleaning the house before they leave.
I knew someone who had Pickfords move them, and they just got up from their breakfast and walked out to their car, left all the left over food on their plates and dirty dishes etc. I did wonder if Pickfords would wash them up before they packed them away (I certainly wouldn't have, would you?) -rosy
They did pay £1,500 for Pickfords to do the job and they also supplied food and drinks throughout the packing. If I could afford it, I think I'd do the same - one of the most stressful things going is moving ! I liked the programme, I thought the moving guys were lovely with great senses of humour. Suppose it helps in that job !
I paid Pickfords to move before... made sure there was no crap hanging around and packed my own shoes and clothes, other than that I didn't lift a finger until I got to the other side (alas, hadn't paid them to unpack!) Why am I going to do something I just paid someone else to do? It's like people who clean before their cleaner gets there, if you've time to do that then you don't need a cleaner.
