I had always thought that the grandees of the Tory party were 'the men in grey suits' who assembled, like a flock of vultures, to tell a failing leader it was time to go and spend more time with their family. They were powerful but not much in the public eye.
Could a boy in care identify such a person or is it more likely that his abuser was a prominent politician?

I believe a prominent Thatcher cabinet member will be named shortly.
An MP who died in 1995 has been named. As far as I understand it the "grandee" is not an MP but a peer who held a high position in the Conservative Central Office.
