Cant get onto the internet

Whenever I type in the address I want to go to (I have tried different ones) I get a screen that says "This webpage is not available".
It then says "the connection to www.***********.co.uk was interupted".
My internet is connected, strength says "excellent". I'm using my phone via the same wifi connection, and my work laptop is connecting ok too.
I've reset the router and still nothings happening.

Any ideas on how to fix this please? Thanks

isnt the "excellent" the strength of connection to your router?

have you checked in case there are any problems with your provider, I have had line drops recently down to maintenance.

if your plusnet its off line ive just phoned them they have an "issue"

It must be something to do with my laptop, as I can access the wifi ok through my phone, and also through my work laptop.

Check your internet config file under C:\Users\Hal>ipconfig /all

Try "ping" ing the address, i.e ping answerbank.co.uk

Try temporarily disabling your firewall. (It appears to be blocking access to the site)

Is this the same laptop that your work IT staff "fixed" recently...?

Yes, same laptop. Theyve fixed the blue screen of death (touch wood!) but now this is happening. Not in work until next week now and would feel a bit cheeky asking them to look at it again.

Still cant access the internet. Definitely not provider issue as Im using my phone to type this via wifi

I'll try those tips and if they dont work Ill have to get someone to look at it

Got it!
It was down to a recent piece of software I'd installed. It's now been removed, and everything is working fine.

plusnet been down for around 30hrs
now back on.no apologies though
