modeller, apology for the diversion here. As to the female bishops, I subscribe to the camp that finds it unbelievable that a national institution can be so myopic - and in contravention to UK and EU Human Rights and Work Equality legislation.....

But other exceptions to the equality legislation have to be supported by reason and logic.
Not founded on prejudice and ancient superstition and doubtful "scripture", which doesn't forbid women to be priests anyway. And traditionalists should stop quoting St Paul who was a misogynist anyway. If they do stop quoting him, they'll find there's no other authority whatsoever for treating religious women worse than men.
