Did anyone watch this? I enjoyed it, a light family programme with no sex, drugs or any nastiness. It's nice to see love taking place at our age!

Really enjoyed it. Cant wait for the next episode to see how the plot pans out.
I've just finished watching it, very good, looking forward to next week.
what a lovely way to spend an hour..........really enjoyable.
Yes an excellent story well acted. Didn't realise it was a continuing story - another five weeks apparently - something to look forward to on a winter Tuesday evening
it is about time someone thought of this type of drama, it's not all about violence, drugs and rock and roll, but good acting, a decent and at times funny storyline.
It is actually based on what happened to the writer's mother. I think I read that the marriage lasted 3 years until the husband had a heart attack.
Delightful, funny, charmly, lovely - reall pleased I watched it and looking forward to the rest of the series.
Thanks for reminding me carandrog. I couldn't make up my mind whether to watch this or BBC4 the American Diner thingy but opted for the latter. But now you're reminded me I've watched it on iplayer and it was lovely. It took me back to lovely Yorkshire and I saw them driving past The Stray and Betty's in Harrogate and around Skipton where I used to love going to the market. A real trip down memory lane for me and jolly good acting as well. Bring it on.
Just shows, love never dies and you're never too old.
The "We're getting married" announcement in front of the two warring daughters was a laugh aloud moment.
i thought it was fantaastic! really, really enjoyed watching it....even if a couple of bits were predictable. i'm going to stay tuned in.....x
I really wanted to download this to put on a dvd & blooming well forgot. Have since watched it on i-player. Does anyone know if it will be repeated so that I can try again ?

WR.
FoxLee2, too much information!
Foxlee, I'm not surprised - I have a relative well into her seventies who started dating again after her husband died, if Friends Reunited brought her more dates I'd be pleased!
I really enjoyed this, and am very pleased to hear that thee are several more episodes to follow - was it Anne Reid who was recently in something with Maureen Lipman - to do with old friends exchanging letters?
islasmum - Ladies of letters. I loved it at first but it got too daft as it progressed.
Thanks Robinia, that's the one.
Whiskyron - no repeats according to my sky guide.
Really enjoyed it but some of the geography is a bit confusing for those of who know the area. Ann Reid talked about dropping in to Elland on the way back from Skipton but Elland is beyond Halifax.
When it finished I had a huge grin on my face. It was lovely. Wish it could happen to me! I had a lovely dream the other night - met a retired surgeon and we fell for each other, then I woke up!
Just watched it on the iplayer and loved every minute. Going to watch last week's episode of Holby City now.
