Talk about put you off . . .

My sister was shopping in the supermarket yesterday paying at the do it yourself thing and felt like someone was watching her. She had the feeling this bloke was staring at her. Anyway he went and a few mins after, she left the shop and he was waiting outside by the exit. He introduced himself and asked her name and gave her a card for the karate class he runs. She said she wasn't interested as it's not her sort of thing, he continued to tell her that the card would give her a discount and he told her the times of the classes he runs and 'thought it would be good for her'.
My sis is a pretty girl with a nice figure (she couldn't do with 'toning' up in anyway).
Anyway, she put her shopping in the car and he'd followed her and was just stood behind her car doing nothing, watching her.
When she told me, I thought it was a bit odd. I mean talk about putting someone off, she said he seemed a bit weird.

But then I think, well he's given his name (he gave her one of his cards) but it made me feel uncomfortable that he was just staring at her.

There are some creepy people about! Maybe ask the staff in case anyone else has reported problems with him following women (could be he just liked the look of your sister but doesn't understand the less creepy approach!).
I had one last year, just before Christmas, I was in one of the oriental supermarkets in our Chinatown and he was following me about and came up talking about some strange thing I should use for the cough I had, just seemed really creepy. He made me uncomfortable so I went to a difference place...he turns up there...ditto a third! I had to make a mad dash and leg it across a carpark to lose him!
A friend of mine got chased by a guy in the city centre while walking home after a night out not long ago, terrified her and he was lurked about outside her building for a fair while afterwards. I made her report it to the police.

Hmm, thanks for your replies. Jenna, both stories sound awful, glad you managed to get away. Where did your friend run to? Her apartment?
I think this guy probably fancied her and that was his way of chatting her up. My sis is 20 and this guy was about 45. Eugh, can you imagine if she did turn up to his classes!

Definitely a bit of a weirdo. I'd feel really freaked out if that was me. If your sis is attractive, then he maybe thought this would be a way of getting her attention (subtle undermining), as presumably his suave good looks and witty banter (or lack of) wasn't quite doing the trick.
There are some very strange men out there. Hopefully she wasn't too disturbed by the encounter?

Having her two year old with her and a creepy man watching her would not make a good combination. I had this problem in a shopping centre, a foreign man kept following me whereever i shopped. I went to security and asked them to walk me to the car, thank god i did, he followed me to the car, but was collered by security.
The first time (maybe about 6 weeks ago) I went to town on my own (all children in school now) a man acted all weird towards me. He was walking ahead of me and kept looking back at me. As we walked through the subway he got his phone out and stopped to talk on it (it was obvious he was pretending) so then he ended up walking behind me. I walked as fast as I could but had to stop at the crossing and I was convinced that was when he was going to 'get me'. He continued to watch me as I walked to the car park. Frightened the crap out me.
