What does the term Limited until at maximum 31/12/2013 mean in an employment contract?

It's an odd expression, but it sounds like a fixed term contract which could be terminated before then, but at the longest, the end of next year.

It sounds like it means that the employment period is limited and that the longest you (or whoever is signing the contract) will be empolyed is until the end of next year.

If this is part of an express term in a contract of employment you would have to provide the context in which it is used, or the full term, to be able to provide an accurate answer.
