Sony Car Stereo Xr-C5120R Reset Problem

Hi

I have a mutichanger sony car stereo that has started saying reset when i try to switch from radio to cd. I have tryed the little black reset button behind the faceplate and it still says reset. I have tried pulling our all the plugs and pluging them in again to no avail. Any other ideas i could try? I have attached a link to the manual but under troubleshooting it says "cannot operate cd player because of some problem press reset" but that doesn't work!!! my car sereo did this and it was after the battery lead was removed and re-connnected, the guy at halfords re-fitted the cd player and it was fine
