Brussels Sprouts

We're having Christmas dinner at my parents place tomorrow and I stupidly offered to prepare the veg.

If I peel and criss cross the sprouts today, will they still be ok for tomorrow?

Yes but don't bother with the 'criss cross'

They'll be fine. Done mine, cooked the carrots, made the mash and peeled the roasties.

Keep the sprouts in a bowl or saucepan of water to keep them fresh.

I peel my sprouts and put cling film over them in a bowl.
I dont soak mine overnight in water, and their fine , still fresh .

Sandwich bag, burp the air out lol. Dont do the criss cross cos it makes them soggy!!

Keep them in iced water - don't croiss cross and only boil for 10 mins max! :)

Wow. Thanks for all the replies.

Loads of different advice out there. Not sure which is the best way to do them yet.
What about carrots? Can I peel and chop them ready for tomorrow?
Would I have to soak them in water?

Sorry for all the questions, I normally do everything on the day

Don't peel or chop them, scrub them and cook them whole.
