What a delightful couple

Does 17 years really pay for taking a childs life on top of the torture she caused. She will only be 50 when let out.

Ah, the old 'give em enough rope' technique. Nice.
Not at all. PetitAnglais is talking about what he thinks Allah decides - and that's what I've addressed.
Ok. ;-)
well I was assuming that this boy's mum had determined that the book must be learned based on her interpretation of what Allah wants.
I'm sure she did think that's what Allah wants - but as far as I'm aware he never said it - it's what someone else decrees - just like circumcision.
I belong to the same religion of peace. My parents did not beat or kill my brother who did not like going to Masjid (mosque) to learn Quran, neither did millions of other Muslims.

Having said that, if someone has to associate this to religion of peace then why not give her the punishment that religion of peace would have given her?

But I know that she would not want that either nor would the people who post threads blaming a religion for the actions of one person. And the reason is very simple, "pick and chose".
This typical of Islamic barbarism!! it disgusts me!!
Keyplus, //why not give her the punishment that religion of peace would have given her? //

Because our laws are not entrenched in the Dark Ages.
Is it not possible that she was a complete nutter?

I mean - is it really common for Muslim parents to kill their kids for not learning the Koran quick enough?

Would we assume that all underclass mothers are like Baby P's mother?
It's strange that when a religiously-committed person does something evil, the media encourage us to blame their religious beliefs; however, when an agnostic or atheist does something evil, there's never a suggestion that their lack of religious belief might be to blame.
No Bert that is nonsense, the religion in this case is being blamed because it is directly linked to that religion (couldn't learn the Koran)
and atheists get a fair amount of stick one way or another. apparently atheists are all having sex with their siblings, eating babies and have no morals.

It is very rare I do any of those things!!!
SP, //Is it not possible that she was a complete nutter? //

Yes, and a religious nutter at that.

Bert, //when a religiously-committed person does something evil, the media encourage us to blame their religious beliefs//

The media hasn't encouraged us to blame her religious beliefs. The murder of her son was directly linked to her religious beliefs.
Fortunately the ladies of Holloway Prison have certain attitudes toward child-killers. Murderers who torture to the point of death are not well tolerated in their midst. It behoves this evil woman to seek isolation for the rest of her miserable life.
