I've never known a night like it?

Does anyone know for real what this line from an advert was advtertising "I've never known a night like it"? I have heard people say soup, scampi fries and beer but what was it from? If it was a bear, what bear, its really bugging me!!!!!!

It was a rower in a storm and he finally arrived back at his house - and it turned out he had just crossed a boating lake. I am sure it was for some hot food, but I can't remember exactly what it was. It was on a list of best ads about a year ago. I think it finished with - and I am not looking forward to the journey home, neither.
