1 Answers
ntl is my isp--i connect thru a bt line and tho i am billed by ntl--recently i received an email telling me to download new software to update my connection--i was told that it would provide more numbers to connect to the net and hence improve connection rates/times--i did this and the result was a new basic number and newly designed connect window--now however whenever i want to connect i get both the old window and new window both asking me to connect and many times i have to use both to connect to the page i have asked for--for anyone who knows--should i have uninstalled the original 'gearbox connection kit' i used b4 the update--also the new window is always popping up unexpectedly on top of anything on the screen--it even sits on top of my screen saver--anyone know why and how to stop this-- how do i get it to connect automatically--this was available in the old window but now i have to manually connect all the time--finally on the options menu of the connect window it says the additional and details options are not currently available--any help would be appreciated--its all driving me nuts

Armed with these you can simply create a new dial-up networking connection and get onto the internet. I suggest you find out what `these are. You can then uninstall all the ntlworld software, delete all the current dial-up networking settings then create a new default one. In the internet settings under connections tick "always dial my default connection" and on the dial-up box you can tick the "automatically dial-up" box. I don't really like doing the latter since any request to the internet will cause it to dial out whether I instigated it or not.
