As above really - the question about elba made me think, There are lots of "holiday" destinations that you hardly ever hear british people going to (or perhaps i mean my british friends) Corsica, Aruba, germany, sardinia, sicily, puerto rica are ones that come immediately to mind

I've had loads of holidays in Germany :)
I've been to Cologne , Munich,Hamburg,Berlin,Düsseldorf ,Essen,Velbert ,Wuppertal and countless other less well known places and cruised the Rhine .
When in South Africa often went to Lesotho and Swaziland. Sometimes for the day, great holidays there.
I can't remember where I went in Germany but I know we went on a cruise on the Rhine.
Go wherever you like, but please don't all start going to Elba, please!
I remember years ago we went to Croatia with the assumption it would be quiet as we hadn't heard of anyone going there.

Doh! The main resorts were full of East Europeans and Italians
Just booked Sicily, thanks to another ABer, apparently it's popular with Germans, no problem for us there. Personally, a place full of other Britons would be one I would avoid. When we first went to the USA in the '80s we were oftrn the only Britons there, now we're everywhere! I blame the T'graph travel section.
blame Freddie Laker!
