Blueberries

I have got a load of blueberries that I want to make into a pie, and instead of having a pastry top, I'm using meringue. Yes I know it will be über sweet, but that's just what I'm looking for at the moment. However, I don't want the filling to be too runny. Should I thicken it slightly by using cornflour or arrowroot?

I always use arrowroot for this sort of thing.
either will work.
