It couldn't have happened to a more deserving bloke...What was that he said? "I don't care who wins the world cup - as long as it isn't Britain"..A bit like Fergie saying "never again will we be beaten on goal averages" (Still waiting for that to happen though).

baz/ummmm....yes of course he might not like being interviewed and yes I don't know the bloke personally, but that shouldn't stop me or anyone else having an opinion.......and my opinion is he lacks humour and has no personality.

Take a person that you know very well...your brother, your boss, your OH, even people who know them may have differing opinions, so knowing them is not necessarily the bee all and end all.

An opinion is just that.....an opinion.....it may or may not be fact.
baz, perhaps you didn't read what he put either.
I get fed up of the negative comments too. Andy's a fantastic player and anyone who saw him in the audience of Mock the Week a couple of days after his Wimbledon defeat last year will know he doesn't lack a sense of humour...
I'm sure John will just find another reason to hate him.
Rob - I posted the youtube link on another thread. He sure laughed a lot for someone with no humour or personality.
I din't see that ummmm...yes he did laugh, and many of the jokes were at his expense.
Just to clarify, during a TV programme on which Andy appeared, along with Tim Henman, he was asked "Who will you be supporting during the World Cup" he replied "Anyone who is playing England". It was said as a joke, the others were giving him stick because Scotland failed to qualify.
It was a light hearted exchange, the others knew it was a joke. Ever since, Andy has been villified because of it.
Give the guy a break, Olympic champion, US Open champion, Runner up at Wimbledon and Australian Open and all you can come up with is "Murray loses again" Then misquote the World Cup joke, I think you're the loser here!
Thanks em10
smowball, our posters doesn't know the difference between Britain and England.

Looks like he has no idea , em.

Just to inform. johntywino ....England is the dominant force that rules over the rest of Great Britain.

And a great job it does too.
"Some" of our posters!
Lol.
well Zacs-master what does he have to do to become world class, he's won a slam been in six slam finals and Olympic champion. He's world No 3. So are you saying that only world no 1 is world class? what about world number 2? To win a major takes world class.
MT, I know you are just trying to be controversial, but I refuse to rise to the bait. However, if you're an example of the "dominant force"..................
He has to win major titles consistently just like all the other world class players.
Let's name some of the others, then.
Perry, Laver, Emerson, Conners, Bjorg, Sampras, Nadal, Federer, Agassi, Lendl.....any more?
I learned to like him from Mock the Week also.
As world number 3 and a slam winner he is quite obviously world class already, although I'm not a fan. However, to be a "great", like those named by Zacs Master, he will need to win a good few more slams, and on different surfaces. I think he'll win more, but he is unfortunate enough to be around at a time when Federer and Djokovic are two of the greatest players ever.
