Agree 100% - tough choices to be made but we can do it.

I'm very happy for you to get your wish wimp, as long as your country expects no financial support whatsoever from the remaining UK.
^^ or any other support.
I am Scottish and fiercly proud of it but I cannot see how any sensible person could possibly vote for the megalomaniacal ramblings of our First Minister or his henchwoman. We are a UNITED Kingdom which has survived well for more than three centuries and no-one should be so dim-witted as to try and break it up.
craft - Where does the sensible half live? Joking, I've got some friends on Inse Catt :-)
And just so Wharton understands, I lived north of the border long enough.

I won't go into the division of oil rights under the Int treaty that covers that one as you won't get as much as you think and a lot of the current fields are in their sunset. This is then further exacerbated if the Shetlands and Orkneys were to separate to stay in the UK or go to Norway....

However, this is all supposition as, from what seems to be the case the majority of the Scots won't allow it to happen - the silent majority and most of the Scots I know are not the alcoholic racists, MT portrayed - just the alcoholic!

Your best tack, Wharton et al on the Haggis's coat-tails, would be to encourage the rest of us to have a vote on it and you might just find yourselves out of the UK!
NEVER NEVER NEVER !!!!!! Alex Salmond, isnt that the one that lied in parliment, good start there. Scotland must stay in the united kingdon.Im totally confident in a NO vote
Wharton mine are all in or near Lerwick, I'd never thought of them as sensible though, especially on Friday nights...............
In 1985 Maggie Thatcher announced that the oil had 'peaked', so I'll watch your 'sunset' with a pinch of salt. As I said earlier, we're not really interested in opinions from outwith Scotland, nor silly playground insults.
Lol craft, I know what you mean :-)
A nice touch of arrogance there, which has the temerity to get up your neighbours' noses and make them ant-Scottish......something that actually most decent Scots do not possess, fortunately. Only a small minority demonstrate such Gibson-esque cinema, it must be said.
I'm Gibbon-esque literature so I'll watch your 'gloaming' with a pinch of salt :-)
YES YES YES!!!! This isn't about Salmond or Sturgeon, this is about us finally getting the chance to be in charge of our own affairs and destinies. We won't get another chance, and if we think Westminster have treated us like Sugar up to now - just wait till they have the excuse that we voted to remain under their rule. This isn't just about the immediate future and the current Scottish government won't be around forever, this is about seizing the only chance we're likely to get in our lifetimes and we have to look at the bigger picture!
