jd-1984 That's what I was saying. Prison isn't supposed to be a punishment, but an opportunity for rehabilitati on. Whether it's a prison or a psychiatric ward he must have been receiving treatment. Two years ago it was shown the treatment, so far, has failed to work. He will continue to receive treatment but how you can judge whether the treatment has worked I...

As I said, I am not saying HE SHOULD be given a chance I am just highlighting the story and getting views.
A part of me couldnt care less if he rots in a cell but what are our obligations under law in the treatment of mentally ill people. We can not just let him rot. I assume that he is entitled to parole and his current sentence has a term, once served... what happens?

I know from personal experience that people can change but there was/is something sinister about this pair and I am not James's parent. If it had been my boy I would know the answer. He is returning to society having served his sentence, as a changed person that remains to be seen. On that basis I will reserve my judgement and opinion.
I have never thought that they should be given a new identity etc. If any of us should commit a crime of any sort and not disclose it on any type of form, i.e. job search, driving licence or insurance etc, its classed as fraud , so why shouldnt they have to disclose their details, especially after the awful crime they committed, of which Im sure they knew was wrong
always broke - This was a stand out case and their names and pictures were national news for years, still are. Now I am not saying it is right, far from it, but the state decided that to prevent future unrest/crime vigilante behaviour, theses lads should be given new identities.
