Last Friday on the front page of the telegraph there was an article suggesting this particular anti-inflammatory should be banned because of its effect that it might cause heart problems heart attacks and strokes Ive been taking 50mg three times a day for many years, has any one got an opinion regarding this drug Ive spoken to a pharmacist who didn't see there was a problem and I'm hoping to speak to my GP, apart from my joints I'm very healthy with a blood pressure that is constantly around 130/70 I'm 70 years old

I saw that article too - very worrying for anyone on the drug, including my MIL. They are talking about having Diclofenac withdrawn. Do discuss with your GP as you suggest.
For me...if I had no past history of high BP, diabetes or heart problems and I was 70 years of age, with no family history of heart attacks or strokes................I would continue taking Diclodenac.

If I had any of the above , I would change to Ibuprofen.

If Ibuprofen wasn't as effective as diclodenac in relieving my pain, then I would return to diclodenac and take my chances.
I can't take diclofenac, so my GP replaced this with Naproxen ..... any good in this case Sqab?
echo....yes, I would have little objection to Naproxin.
LOL.in all my posts I mean diclofenac....not Diclodenac.....
Mr doctor suggested that I change to Naproxen when I went for a prescription review
I went to the GP two weeks ago for some Diclofenac but she wouldn't prescribe them for me. Was given Naproxen instead and Lanzaprozole to protect my stomach.
I've been taken off Arthrotec and put on Naproxen. I have to admit they do a better job!
