My son is boarding-out his lounge floor with plywood. I told him beforehand to check on water pipes, cables etc. He started the job about an hour ago....I've just had a breathless phone call from him...3 guesses on what he's done...
Screw straight through the middle of a central heating pipe. I'm now trying to talk him through fitting a compression joint, don't want to let hiw loose with a blowtorch..
Snags...I told him to lift the carpet 1st:-)
I'm just wondering if it might be less stressful if you went over there and did it for him.
In my single days my brother got SO exasperated with my phonecalls when I was trying to do relatively simple jobs and rounding cocking them up he used to get me to make a list of jobs that need doing and he used to come over once every 6 months and do them. He said it was easier to get it right from the start rather than putting right someone else's cock ups.
he did also once say to me "Look I don't mess with legal stuff; you should learn not to mess with power tools".
