Temporary Internet Files

I have just discovered Temprary Internet files on my computer dating back to December 2003! Erk!

Trying to delete them in one go or through the Internet Options doesn't seem to have any effect as it's just too big a job.

Deleting them manually in sections is going to take me about 3 days with no sleep or food...

How the hell do I get rid of them??

Once I connected only to be confronted with "Your connection speed is 4kbps"

Mostly it's between 28k and 35k

And my amount of RAM is apparently out of date too. I have 214mb (I know, random amount)

Go to Start Menu Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Cleanup.
Try that.

Reckon I should just leave it to grate away at them overnight and see what happens?

When you run it, you'll see all your temp files disappear right before your eyes! Magic! (It does other cleanup type stuff as well, check out the details for yourself when you've downloaded it).

It will take ages on an old PC, but be patient, it should get there in the end. Just leave it alone and ignore it if is says 'not responding'.

And use a browser other than Internet Explorer, then you won't get this problem again.

After you do get rid of all that stuff, then you can set your PC to only use a small amount of space for this purpose - go to Internet Options - Temporary Internet Files - Settings and you should see a setting for Amount of disk space to use, set this to a low value which suits you and this will stop all that unwanted storage.

In the end it got rid of about 600mb of stuff... woh :D
