How Do I Stop The Ping?

Just in the past week or so, my PC has started to give a ping. I think it happens when messages drop into my in box. How can I stop it? Its distracting.

I expect your using an email client on your pc to pick your emails. Look through your options for one to disable the alert tone.

If you give details on what email client we might be able to give you a more accurate reply.

Go to Start>Control Panel>Sound>Sounds, then scroll down to New Mail Notification, then notice the speaker at the side, unclick the check box, & select "none" in the drop down box.
