Punk hair

I have shoulder length hair in basically a bob and next week I am going to a party where we all have to dress as punks. How do I get my hair up? Do I gel it (in which case which gel?) and then back comb it? Or sugarsoap it then back comb ir? Or any other way? Presumably I'll also need to use lots of hairspray?

I already have streaks of two different colours in my hair dot (blonde and red), so am reluctant to add more in case I end up with green hair! Still need to know which is best - gel or sugar soap. I can see a lot of practising being done this weekend - goodness knows what the neighbours will think!

be kind to yourself, and your hair, and source a wig from a local costume hire shop- there were a couple of stunning funky punky ones at an eighties do recently.The cost will probably not be much different from buying a vat of dax wax and a specialist product stripping shampoo to restore your locks to their former glory.My fave outfit was fashioned from black binliners and safety pins( worn by someone who still wears sloaney rigout everyday, it took people ages to work out who she was)

In my day! we used to leave soap in and blow dry upside down.then add your srays etc. have a great time.

A friend of mine has a mohekan, he mix's sugar dissolved into warm water to stand his hair up (apply, hold hair up and blowdry) It dries like rock and tastes good too, just wash it out before you go to bed.
