Credit Card Rewards

My friend overseas has just got a free flight becuase she had so many points on her credit card. Does anyone in the UK have a credit card where you get airmiles for your purchases, or any other rewards? I get nothing with mine and want to switch.

NatWest (Royal Bank of Scotland Group) are the only credit card provider to offer airmiles. They have some form of holding over this reward programme.

Many other credit cards offer a rewards programme. Morgan Stanley, Egg, AmEx and Halifax are some of the ones to offer a money back initiative. Some high street retailers offer their own credit cards and you get vouchers sent regularly to use in their stores (eg Harrods and the John Lewis Partnership).

The supermaket where you do your shopping may do a credit card whereby they send you vouchers or extra points every time you spend (eg Tesco Personal Finance).

However, if you do NOT clear your balance in full, they may sting you in higher interest charges to that of your current provider. There is no such thing as a free lunch! Something to bear in mind.

british airways american express or with tesco you used to be able to swap reward vouchers for airmiles.

I pay my credit cards in full every month and so do very nicely from the reward schemes.

I use Goldfish and get points which you can redeem for places like John Lewis, Boots, WHSmith and I think there are also leisure vouchers. I also have a Tesco card and swap the points for various deals.
