We were forbidden to play the radio in our office because people walking by in the street could hear it (it's a bit draconian, but there you are). I think then that the Performing Rights licence is only about a tenner a year, so it would be worth your friend getting a licence.
good morning boxy and thanks.. i know from working at charity shop we couldnt play radio but they said we could play it upstairs so long as public didnt hear it (and said there was a rule that there had to be more than 5 staff or something) ...i obviously couldnt have my music blaring out downstairs in the shop but ive done it at tat studio and he thought it was ok... i better put earphones in in future x
